Second Grade Winner!!

Dayne completed his first ever storyboard last week. He chose a book he picked from the library, "Curious George Goes to the Hospital". We had a lot of fun putting this storyboard together.

And he won first place in his category!!!!! He was so excited! (Mama was too!) We are so proud of him. It will go on to the next competition now. We'll keep you posted on how it turns out there!! :)

The Jingle Bell Jubilee was a huge success. Maybe I can post some new pictures up soon. I will be at the Country Store at Tilton United Methodist Church this coming weekend from 8 til 2. Come out and see me!!

Ooples and Banoonoos

Busy day of crafting... getting ready for Jingle Bell Jubilee... Making bows and shirts and frames... Busy day of cooking also.... What did me and Addie girl have cooking up today?? Apples, bananas, peaches, sweet potatoes, carrots, kiwi... And time ran out. We had to go pick up Big Brother. Hopefully tomorrow we can get some squash and avocado finished. Addie has been loving her bottle today too. (We are in the process of weening, and she's doing sooo good.) She has learned to hold her bottle, and she gets angry when you take it away from her. :)  Pictures coming soon..

P.S. Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I have been so busy. I will do better. Until next time...

Funny Faces & Bananas

For those of you who don't know, I am making my own natural baby food. Today I made 48 oz of sweet potatoes and 48 oz of bananas.... Addie won't be hungry for a while!! She loves sweet potatoes and bananas. She doesn't think the oatmeal is too tasty. And hasn't quite acquired a taste for peaches yet, but we're still working on that. She has been eating solid food for a week now and it's going great.  She loves it. And mama loves making it. :)  It is so much cheaper, but more importantly, so much better for my sweet baby.

Tacky Day

It's Tacky Day today in second grade, and this is how my precious 7 year old left for school this morning. He was so excited.  Super fun....

I've missed you.

Hello blog. I've missed you. I know it's been a while since I've posted anything special. I have a LOT of catching up to do with you. :) We've been on vacation, out of town, had Reese's graduation and lots of family over, school started back, etc, etc, etc. So I have been super busy. I have a lot to tell you about and a few little projects I've done to catch you up on. Don't worry. I took lots of pictures along the way. Hopefully this next week I can get back in the swing of things and get some pictures posted and catch you up. Until then, I'll miss you more. :(

Pray, pray, pray!

Lots of changes in our life.  Need prayer. :)

Reese will be graduating in one week. So excited, and so proud of him. He has worked so hard for this and for our family. He is the best. He has finals and final projects due, graduation fees, and still working three jobs in the midst of all this. It is very stressing on him. Pray.

Dayne will be starting school in a couple weeks. He has had an awesome summer and we have done tons of fun stuff, but it's never long enough for a seven year old. He is excited about second grade, but will miss swimming every day, sleepovers during the week, being home with mama and sister, going to Nommie and Vivi's, sleeping late, and no agenda. Who wouldn't?? Pray.

We are going on vacation this weekend with the grandparents. Addie's first vacation with them. We will be going to a Braves game. Everybody is so excited. Traveling and being away from home. Definately pray. :)

We may be buying a new/used vehicle soon. Addie is small, but we have outgrown our little favorite, family, paid for car. Definately. We have been looking around and think we have found what we might want, but it will be a step of faith. Pray.

So blessed that we can lift these things up to the Lord and know that he hears, and will be faithful and show us answers in His time and His will.  Thank you Lord.

Who Loves the Beach? We do!!

Our little family of four decided to go on a mini vacation to the beach this past weekend. It was Addie's first vacation ever; first time to see the beach and stick her toes in the sand (Yes, we stuck her cute little pink toes in the sand) , first time to stay in a hotel, lots of firsts. Mama and Daddy and Dayne's first time in a Beau Rivage. Yes, we stayed on the 25th floor of the Beau Rivage, and it was awesome priceless AMAZING!! We had so much fun.

Colorful Fun Cupcakes

So.. Dayne, Addie, and I were bored, had a craving for a little something sweet, and wanted to get creative. :) So we decided to try this. We found this over at theletter4.blogspot.com and decided to try our own "Massive Volcanic Cupcakes".

regular white cake mix + food coloring...

We separated the different colors of cake mix, and spoon the different colors randomly into the cupcake pan, color after color, one on top of another.

Then, pop them in the oven, and when they come out, they are overflowing with color! AWESOME!

Dayne thought Addie should be in the picture too!

Then we Dayne decided to make colorful icing to top them off. We just added food coloring to regular icing and got creative. Dayne liked mixing different colors and swirling them. Fun day!  ;)

Our Fourth!

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July holiday! We enjoyed some great friends, cooking out, and an awesome fireworks show put on by Dayne! I am a little late in posting our pictures, but I wanted to show everyone the dessert that Dayne and I made. He was so proud of it.

I gave Maddie pigtails for the first time the other day. Her hair has just gotten long enough and it is just too cute.

Crafty Girls

We love painting!

Addie and I enjoyed a crafty day yesterday. Dayne is down at Nommie and Papaw's, so we enjoyed a painting, crafting girl's day. She ended up with yellow paint on her leg. We had so much fun! She likes being crafty, just like her mommy. :)

Forest Hill Storm

Dayne's tournament team, Forest Hill Storm, played in the State Championship tournament in Ridgeland this past weekend. We ended up playing in the championship! We lost the final, but we took home second place! The kids all got medals presented to them and needless to say, were very excited.  You can tell they played hard. Way to go Storm! We are very proud of you boys!!

Today Dayne and I are busy creating new projects and being crafty! Mama's favorite thing to do. :) Dayne decided he wanted to make his daddy a picture frame to surprise him with when he gets home from work. Check out his creation!

Summer Boredom

It has begun. Summer is here and we are already bored!! With everything we have around the house to keep us occupied, I still hear about thirty times a day, "Mama, I'm bored!" So here is the solution we came up with a few days ago. (It lasted about an hour.)

Dayne had an end of the baseball season pool party a couple weeks ago with his team. His team was The
Trophy Shop. They had a blast. They ate pizza and snacks and swam for a few hours and then everybody got trophies for doing such a good job all season. Dayne got a special trophy because he played pitcher all year. He was so excited.

 Addie went with us, too and had fun at her first ever pool party. This is what she did the whole time. :)
